Social Media without the middle man

Social Media companies exploit you and sell you out.
Imagine a social media application that directly connects devices to other devices, instead of uploading content to gigantic data centers that consume vast quantities of energy and other natural resources to maintain a constant up time.

Data would be shared between groups created by the users, and the data would strictly be stored on the users devices themselves, and shared with others through a secure block chain style communication protocol.

Security
The fact that these gigantic social media companies harvest vast amounts of data from people all over the world and sell them to the highest bidder to cover the internet in spam and marketing like our old televisions, is a haunting vision of the future of the internet. A vision none of us want. These companies have become almost as large as governments themselves, in some cases larger and much more powerful and influential. They are so intertwined together now, there is virtually no hope of ever slowing the overreach, ownership and control. A new way of doing business is the only solution. An app owned by the members, not a stock ticker in a hedge fund.
Bandwidth Recovery
Imagine not having to waste your purchased bandwidth on uploading and downloading files over and over again. Not having to use your data to see things you have no desire to see. Imagine not having millions of updates using the rest of your bandwidth, adding features nobody wants.
Isolated and Insulated
Your data remains on your SD card or devices internal memory. Compression technology is used to archive old data. A rolling post archive can be configured to keep your posts visible for a specified time period, and then archived or deleted, permanently. Copies can be shared with approved group members if so desired, but no data center is overflowing with millions of peoples data, to be sold to all who desire it for any cost. You are no longer the product. You are the producer.
